Organization

The CG has the usual officers and bylaws as are common to small groups. However, our emphasis is on usefulness rather than bureaucracy. The group was founded by Zed Hrubec and is led by him, Brooks Hubbert and Lee Lahet. The CG activities are coordinated with Oak Crest Information Services and Resident Life staff.

The Group meets each Monday at 10:30 AM (except July, August and holidays) in the Village Square Music Room. The CG maintains a Computer Laboratory with controlled access. At meetings a computer and a projector are generally available for presentations.

Our Purpose

The Computer Group exists to help residents enjoy using computers and to enhance their computer skills.

High-Speed Internet

The Computer Lab offers a high-speed Internet connection via Comcast cable provided by OCV and partly supported by the CG.

Becoming a Member

(OCV residents only)

To enroll in the Computer Group, contact May Town. Annual dues range from $20 to $35.

In order to protect both the user and the computer equipment, the Computer Group expects users without prior computer experience to take an introductory course before gaining unsupervised access to the Lab equipment.

Those with moderate computer skills can work independently from teaching materials developed by the Computer Group. Advanced users, after they demonstrate their skill, can have unrestricted access to the Lab.
